- In the 2025-26 CPD year (1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026), licensed agents must complete all compulsory topics relevant to their licence category and area of practice.
- Class 1 licence holders will be required to attend a NSW Fair Trading accredited forum in addition to their core hours.
- Failure to comply with your CPD requirements may result in the suspension or cancellation of your licence or certificate.

The CPD year for all licence and certificate holders starts on the 1st July each year and ends on the 30th June the following year.
Compulsory topics must be delivered by a training provider approved by the Strata and Property Services Commissioner.

- a face-to-face interactive training environment (maximum 40 attendees), or
- an interactive webinar (maximum 25 attendees), and
- include an assessment activity.

Unlike previous years, you are no longer able to complete CPD by online self-paced training. It must be in-class or via interactive training (such as a Zoom or Teams event) with a live trainer delivering compulsory course topics. Competency must be achieved by way of a written assessment.
Class 1 agents have an additional requirement to spend a minimum of five hours attending a NSW Fair Trading accredited event.
Licensees-in-charge must have all CPD training detailed in the training plan for the agency, and this may be made up of topics most relevant to you.
This year, training hours will vary dependent upon the type and Class of License you hold. Eg Class 2 license holders are NOT required to attend a five-hour accredited NSW Fair Trading event…only Class 1 license holders must attend.

Real Estate Agents
Agents that hold a Real Estate category licence and are Residential Real Estate Salespeople, Buyers Agents and Residential Property Managers, must complete:
- a minimum of 7 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 4 compulsory CPD topics.
Agents that hold a Real Estate category of licence and are Short-term Residential Property Managers must complete:
- a minimum of 4 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 3 compulsory CPD topics.
Agents that hold a Real Estate category of licence and are a Commercial Real Estate Agent or a Business Broker must complete:
- a minimum of 5 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 4 compulsory CPD topics.
All class 1 agents are also required to spend a minimum of five hours attending a NSW Fair Trading- accredited event. Event dates and times are posted on the Fair Trading website.

- Residential tenancies reforms (must be delivered face to face for a minimum of 3 hours).
Short-term Residential Property Managers – 4 hours $349
- Mitigating risk and managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace
- Regulatory framework including NSW Fair Trading Code of Conduct for Short-term Rental Accommodation Industry
- Regulatory change in strata 2025
Commercial Real Estate Agents – 5 hours $349
- Privacy Law Reforms
- Mitigating risk and managing psychosocial hazards in the workplace
- Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing
- Retail and Commercial Leasing (including Heads of Agreement)
